Vocational Program and Ticket to Work
Vocational Programs for Adults with Disabilities
The Center for Independence’s Vocational Program helps individuals with disabilities achieve greater independence by offering assistance and support for vocational skills. Our team provides each individual personalized training, job seeking services and skills training.
Services provided may include:
- Assisting customers to move through the job search process in a timely and effective manner.
- Supporting the relationship between customers and their Vocational Rehabilitation counselor or placement professional.
- Communicating a better understanding of one’s disability.
- DVR Job Placement Providers on-site
- Providing motivation and support to achieve personal goals.
- Providing education and referrals to other appropriate CFI services, and to community and governmental resources.
- Supporting consumers (youth and adult) through their education endeavors
Vocational Programs for Youth with Disabilities
The Center for Independence’s Vocational Program for youth helps young people with disabilities achieve greater independence through employment training, peer support, and case management.
Services provided may include:
- YETI Club! Youth Employment Transition Impact club is a year-round class that teaches a wide range of job skills, including how to fill out applications, interview skills, and practice scenarios!
- Supporting consumers in their search for a job.
- Communicating a better understanding of one’s disability.
- Providing motivation and support to achieve personal goals.
- Assistive Technology.
- Employer communication facilitation.
- Advocacy and training in self-advocacy.
- Parent Resources and Support.
- Supporting consumers through their education endeavors.

Ticket to Work
The Ticket to Work and Self Sufficiency (Ticket) program is a Federally-funded employment program designed to provide Social Security disability beneficiaries (i.e., individuals receiving Social Security Disability Insurance and/or Supplemental Security Income benefits based on disability) the choices, opportunities and support they need to enter the workforce and maintain employment with the goal of becoming economically self-supporting over time.
